Adding an image

Click Images in the sidebar. There are three tabs:

TabWhat it's for
LibraryUpload a file from your device, add an image by pasting a URL, or reuse anything you've added before
StockSearch or browse free stock photos by category
PackagesImport an existing GDL graphics package — a ZIP containing native_gfx.ini and TGA assets — and its images are converted and added to your library

See Supported File Formats for accepted file types.

Adjusting an image

Use the standard canvas controls to resize, rotate, and reposition the image, or the Width / Height and X / Y fields in the Properties panel for exact values.

With an image selected, the Properties panel also has an Image section:

FieldWhat it does
SourceThe image URL — edit it to swap in a different image without replacing the object
FitFill (stretches to fill the box, may distort), Fit (preserves aspect ratio, letterboxed), or Crop (preserves aspect ratio, fills the box by cropping)
PaddingSpace in pixels between the image and the edges of its box
Box backgroundA color shown behind the image, visible through any padding or letterboxing

A package can include a multi-frame TGA sequence, which is added as a single animated image rather than a static one — that kind doesn't get a Source field, since there's no single URL to swap.

Animations

Like shapes, images are animated using presets or the keyframe timeline. See Animation Types — Shapes & Images and Adding & Editing Keyframes.
