Saving Your Work
CloudMonet has two layers of saving — a local auto-save and a manual cloud save. It's important to understand the difference.
Manual save (cloud)
Clicking the Save button saves your design to the cloud. This is the only way to make your work available across different devices or browsers. Always save explicitly before closing the editor if you want to pick up where you left off on another machine.
Auto-save (local)
CloudMonet automatically saves a local backup every 60 seconds while you're working. This is stored in your browser's local storage — not the cloud.
If your session ends unexpectedly (browser crash, accidental tab close, power loss), reopening the design on the same browser and machine shows a prompt: "Unsaved changes found (X ago) — Your last session was not saved to the cloud. Restore it?" — click Restore to bring them back. This only appears when the local backup is meaningfully newer than your last cloud save, so it won't nag you after a normal save.
The auto-save is tied to your browser and device. It will not be available if you switch to a different browser or machine. To ensure your work is safe across devices, always use the Save button to save to the cloud.
Best practice
- Save regularly using the Save button, especially after significant changes
- Think of auto-save as a safety net for unexpected interruptions — not a replacement for manual saving
